Southern Indiana Woman to Bring Books, Ring on PBS TV Show

SANTA CLAUS, Ind. (AP) – A woman from Santa Claus is bringing a collection of English novels and a diamond ring on the PBS television show “Antiques Roadshow'' to see what they're worth.

Brenda Winkler tells the Evansville Courier & Press (http://bit.ly/1SANT7W ) she's been trying to get on the program for four years.

Each of the items already has a story and sentimental value. When her father Chester died, he left Winkler an inheritance which she used to buy a diamond ring from Olinger Diamond Center in Jasper. The diamonds weigh three karats and are set in a 14K gold right.

She purchased the books for $25 years ago in the town of Arthur, 40 miles northeast of Evansville, during an antiquing trip with her father. She believes they are first edition books.
