20 mile police chase that started in Adams County ends on I-69 in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A relatively simple complaint turned out to be anything but for officers in Adams County late Friday night.

Dispatchers got a vague call at about 11:15 pm. of a vehicle in the area of Winchester Road and County Road 900. According to a press release from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle complaint wasn’t specific. When a deputy arrived, the vehicle took off.

Over 20 miles later, the driver was finally stopped on I-69 just south of Jefferson Blvd./U.S. 24 at mm 301. When it was all said and done, Decatur Police, the Wells County Sheriff’s Department and the Allen County Sheriff’s Department had all assisted.

The suspect’s name or what charges he or she may be facing has not been released. The incident is still being investigated.
