FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — On Thursday, the zoo had to say goodbye to Bahati, the male African Lion.

Officials say that he was diagnosed with thymic cancer last week, following a relatively short period of inappetence.

They say Bahiti arrived at the zoo in 2016 and has since been a beloved member of the African Journey and a wonderful ambassador for African lions in the world.
