FWCS Decides on Budget

Yesterday with a 3-2 vote, the Fort Wayne Community Schools board decided on its 285 million dollar proposed budget, which after property tax caps, comes down to about 276 million dollars. The new resolution includes decreasing a property tax increase from 3.2 down to 2 percent. The leftover funds will be used for building improvements not detailed in the board’s $119 million building project.
