Indiana Named 16th Safest State To Retire

STATEWIDE, Ind. (WOWO) — According to a new study, Indiana is the 16th safest state to retire heading into the new year.

A new study from the consumer group Seniorly analyzes seven factors using the most recent data from five government agencies: the FBI, CDC, BLS, DOT, and CMS.

The state ranked 26th in violent crime, 19th in property crime, 14th for fall deaths, 25th for police officers, and 22nd for hospital beds per Medicare enrollee.

Indiana’s lowest ranking was 37th, for fatal car crashes.

It’s best rating was 7th, for scam victims.

A record 4 point 1 million Americans turned 65 this year.
