Allen County Certifies Primary Election Results After Delayed Vote Count

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO) — The Allen County Election Board has officially certified the results of last week’s primary election after counting all eligible provisional ballots.

While the final vote totals shifted slightly, the winners in all races remained unchanged.

Election officials said this year marked the first time Allen County voters used vote centers instead of assigned precinct polling locations. The board also cited the large number of candidates on the ballot as factors contributing to delays in reporting unofficial election results last week.

Two closely watched Republican races were among those impacted by the delay.

In the Indiana Senate District 15 GOP primary, incumbent Liz Brown maintained her lead over challenger Darren Vogt. The certified results show Brown winning by just 14 votes.

In the Allen County Board of Commissioners District 3 Republican primary, Paul Moss officially defeated Ewelina Connolly by 65 votes.

Both races were unofficially called last Wednesday, but the final certified totals narrowed the margins.

Candidates and campaigns have until Tuesday to file a request for a recount or election contest.
