IPFW Professor Named Indiana’s Poet Laureate

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP): An Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne professor will serve as the state's poet laureate for the next two years. Dr. George Kalamaras grew up in Cedar Lake in northwestern Indiana and has been an IPFW professor since 1990. He says he's thrilled by the appointment, saying he sees poetry as an act of loving service – to people, animals the planet and the culture at large.
