Winter Weather ADVIOSRY for Listening Area

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The WOWO listening area is under a Wind Chill Advisory until 1 p.m. Saturday.

Snow will develop late Thursday afternoon and continue into the evening. The heaviest period of snow is expected Thursday night. Lake-effect snow showers will continue into Friday with additional light accumulations possible. Overall, two to four inches of snow can be expected.

However, snow accumulations are not the only threat for the WOWO listening area, strong southwest winds will cause significant blowing and drifting, reducing visibility on the roadways. Some roads may also become impassable due to the blowing snow.

Keep in mind that extended time outside, especially if you have exposed skin, can be dangerous.  Frost Bite, hypothermia or even death can happen if precautions are not taken.
