UPDATE: Power Outage at Snider High School Prompts Early Dismissal

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A power outage at Snider High School has prompted school officials to dismiss students at 1:00 p.m., Monday afternoon. The power went out around 10:45 a.m. this morning, but we’re hearing reports that some of the power is restored to parts of the building.

Krista Stockman, Fort Wayne Community Schools spokesperson, says the outage is NOT related to current construction, but is related to the aging infrastructure at Snider that needs to be repaired. She adds, “We hope to have the issue fixed to return students to school tomorrow. Student drivers, bus riders and walkers will be dismissed under normal procedures. Parents picking up students will ONLY be allowed to pick up their child.”

Stay tuned to WOWO as we’ll continue to update this story.
