New Contract, Raise for City Firefighters

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): At last night's City Council meeting, members approved a new contract for city firefighters, and with it, a raise. The new three-year contract will give firefighters a 2% raise each year. Also implemented; a “right to work” law stemming from last month's vote that ended collective bargaining with unions, that according to The Journal Gazette. The new ordinance states the city could not make union memberships an employment requirement.
