Edy’s Set To Upgrade Fort Wayne Plant

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A local company will be upgrading their Fort Wayne facility.

Edy's Ice Cream will be making $18 million in improvements to its plant on 3426 Wells Street. According to the Journal Gazette, their parent company Nestle Dryer's Grand Ice Cream has asked City Council to approve a “phase in” to help lower taxes, at least temporarily, on new manufacturing.

They also note that the expansion will not add new jobs, however it will help retain the 542 existing full-time jobs.
