FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): One man is in critical condition after an apartment fire early this morning in Fort Wayne.

Crews were called to Canterbury Green Apartments after smoke was noticed rolling on the floor of the complex.

When firefighters arrived, they pulled a man from his apartment and an elderly woman from her apartment next door. Fire investigators say the fire started after someone left food on a stove.

A total of eight units were evacuated.
