Fort Wayne Man gets 12 years for Attempted Post Office Robbery

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man received a 12-year prison sentence for attempting to rob a U.S. Post Office.

According to the Journal Gazette, Julius Lawson was sentenced for trying to rob the post office in Diplomat Plaza. He received additional time for being armed with a handgun.

Lawson attempted the robbery in December of 2012 with another man, who was also armed. The manager locked herself and two other employees inside her office while Lawson jumped on the counter. 

Police have not yet identified the other man involved. Investigators say he is still at large.
