National Radon Action Week Oct. 20-26

INDIANA (WOWO): The World Health Organization is endorsing National Radon Action week to help people avoid the harmful carcinogen.

According to a press release, radon gas is becoming more of a widespread problem in the U.S. due to foundation cracks and openings on uneven concrete.

The WHO says one in every fifteen homes is directly effected by elevated radon and is the number one cause of lung cancer in non-smokers.

National Radon Week is geared to help people tests their homes and learn what kinds of actions need to be taken to stay safe.

Home improvement stores sell radon test kits and more information can be found at www.RadonWeek.org.
