Newly Elected Officials Take Oath Today

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Several newly-elected officials took the oath of office today at the Allen County Courthouse during the inauguration ceremonies.

New County Council members Sharon Tucker and Joel Benz were sworn in along side Tom Harris and Larry Brown who were re-elected.

David Gladieux became the county’s newest sheriff. He's a 28-year veteran who served for the past eight years as chief deputy to Ken Fries.

Anita Mather was sworn in to begin a four-year term as County Recorder. County Commissioner Linda Bloom was also sworn in. Other County elected officials who took the oath of office at today’s ceremony were:

* Thomas J. Felts — Allen Circuit Court Judge
* Frances C. Gull — Allen Superior Court Judge
* John F. Surbeck, Jr. — Allen Superior Court Judge
* Craig J. Bobay — Allen Superior Court Judge
* Daniel G. Heath — Allen Superior Court Judge
* Stanley A. Levine — Allen Superior Court Judge
* Karen E. Richards — Allen County Prosecuting Attorney
* Lisbeth A. Borgmann — Clerk of Allen Circuit and Superior Courts
* Tera K. Klutz — Allen County Auditor
* Stacey J. O'Day — Allen County Assessor
* Beverly Zuber — Wayne Township Assessor

In addition, five township trustees were sworn in.
