One lawyer says a couple is stunned by criminal blast probe in Indy…

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – A lawyer says a couple whose Indianapolis home is believed to have been the center of a deadly explosion are bewildered that authorities are investigating the blast as a homicide.

Attorney Randall Cable says that Monserrate Shirley and Mark Leonard are “horrified” by the tragedy that left two people dead and several homes charred hulks and hope that investigators find the cause of the Nov. 10 blast, which authorities believe was caused by natural gas.

Cable says Shirley and Leonard are cooperating fully with investigators.

He says the couple was staying at an Ohio River casino the night of the explosion. Cable has previously said that Shirley’s 12-year-old daughter had smelled an odd odor in previous weeks but the couple didn’t reported it.
