INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Hoosiers might be able to wash down deep-fried treats with a frosty beer if lawmakers approve a bill to allow alcoholic beverages at the Indiana State Fair.
 
       The bill that would end a 67-year ban at the fair would promote sales of Indiana beers.
 
       Opponents are concerned selling beer could hurt the family atmosphere at the fair. However, a State Fair spokesman says there's nothing to worry about with security and well-trained vendors.
 
       The State Fair Commission estimates expenses related to beer sales would be about $110,000 in the next two years.
 
       The bill is pending before the Senate Public Policy Committee.
