MONTICELLO, Ind. (AP): The trial of a White County man accused of fatally stabbing his mother and half-sister in February has been put on hold while the suspect undergoes mental health treatment.

WLFI reports that a judge has found 20-year-old David Rodenbarger isn’t mentally competent to stand trial. Rodenbarger is receiving treatment at Logansport State Hospital.
 
Rodenbarger is accused of stabbing his mother, 41-year-old Michelle J. Haskins, and his 6-year-old half-sister, Jillian E. Haskins, with a two-pronged meat fork and knife inside their Monticello home in February.
 
Rodenbarger’s attorney had requested that he undergo a psychological examination after the suspect smeared himself with feces and drank his own urine while in a county jail. 
 
An update on Rodenbarger’s mental health is expected in May.
