INDIANAPOLIS (AP): A group of Indianapolis clergy are dedicated this to getting young people to lay down their weapons as part of an effort it’s calling Violence Free April.

WRTV-TV and WIBC-FM report the effort by the Ten Point Coalition will target at least five Indianapolis neighborhoods with marches, rallies, prayer vigils and other events to engage the city’s youths and their parents.
 
The anti-violence effort will include visits to all city public schools and charter schools to educate students on alternatives to crime and violence. 
 
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is a partner in the effort.
