Program Gives Police Real-Time Data to Fight Crime

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP): Software developed by Purdue University students is giving police a new tool to predict where crime might occur. The “Valet'' program took more than four years to develop. It's being deployed to police agencies in several states. Lafayette Police Chief Patrick Flannelly says the program gives police real-time data to work with and can help shrinking departments do more with less.
