Investigators: Pilot became confused before crash…

GREENSBURG, Ind. (AP) _ Investigators say the pilot of a small plane that crashed in southeastern Indiana had become disoriented in foggy, misty weather.

The National Transportation Safety Board released its final report Tuesday into the cause of the December 2011 crash in Greensburg that killed the pilot, his wife and another couple.

Tuesday's report says that Don Horan of Greensburg was trying to abort a landing at Greensburg Municipal Airport when he suddenly couldn't tell which way was up.

The NTSB says the runway lights were functioning properly and the plane and engine were in working order.

At the time of the crash, the 46-year-old Horan was returning from Florida with his 45-year-old wife, Barbara, and their friends, 45-year-old Stephen Butz and 42-year-old Denise Butz.
