State Cautious in Approach to Revenue Software

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The Indiana Department of Revenue is taking steps to ensure taxpayers' information is protected and revenue is properly recorded following the discovery that more than $500 million went undetected or unreported. Revenue Commissioner Mike Alley tells the Indianapolis Business Journal the state has reinstated a number of controls that had been dropped and has overhauled the staff to add more financial and IT professionals. They include a chief information security officer charged with keeping taxpayer data safe.
