INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – The Indiana Supreme Court considered nearly 1,000 cases during the last fiscal year.

The court's annual report says the justices were asked to review 995 cases. Eighty of those cases made it to oral arguments. The justices read thousands of pages of briefs before deciding which cases to hear.

The report released last week says 81 percent of the opinions issued by the justices were unanimous.

The report also notes that the Supreme Court soon will be using an electronic case management system called Odyssey, which allows residents to track cases online, and plans are in the works to move from paper document filing to a statewide electronic filing system.
