Fort Wayne Sports Bar Could Lose Alcohol Permit

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A local bar known for crime on Fort Wayne's east side could lose it's liquor license, after a unanimous vote by the Allen County Alcoholic Beverage Board.

On Monday, the board voted unanimously to recommend taking away Sports and Spirits Bar and Grill's 3-way alcoholic beverage permit, located on the corner of Wayne St. and Anthony Blvd.

The bar is known for multiple shootings and stabbings. Our partners in news at 21Alive say the owners of the bar have received several citations since they opened up shop. Some of those citations include violation of the state smoking ban, failure to maintain employee permit records, employing an unlicensed server, and sale of alcohol to a minor.

The state Alcohol and Tobacco Commission has a hearing on the case next month.
