INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): Governor Mike Pence is making the most out of his trip to Canada.

Wednesday in Ontario, Governor Pence met with leaders of Skjodt-Barrett Foods just outside of Toronto. The 29 year old Canadian specialty food manufacturer plans to invest $43.9 million to expand their U.S. headquarters in Lebanon, Indiana. The expansion will add nearly 100 new jobs.

The Governor also visited a Toronto-based venture capital firm that is considering investment in Indiana life science companies. Leaders from a Canadian automotive supplier then met with Governor Pence to discuss the company’s consideration of central Indiana for a new location.

Canada is Indiana’s largest export partner with $11.8 billion in Hoosier-built products sent to Canada just last year. More than 14,800 Hoosiers work for Canadian-owned companies, with more than 90 Canadian firms already in the state.
