New Health Commissioner Begins, Reviews Ebola Plan

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): New Indiana Health Commissioner Jerome Adams started his first day on the job Wednesday. One of his first tasks was to meet about the States response to Ebola.



The Department of Health says Dr. Adams met with executive staff and tackled preparedness efforts. According to a press release, Indiana's response is centered on three principles: Rigorous training for all healthcare workers. That training includes personal protective equipment handling and removal. The procedure also includes no skin exposure and supervision by a trained monitor during the process of wearing and removing the protective equipment.



The state is also ordering additional protective equipment.
