CROWN POINT, Ind. (AP) _ An Indiana man charged in the deaths of two women and accused in five other slayings is due back in court just days after he refused to even acknowledge his name to a judge.
The Times reports Darren Vann is scheduled to appear before a judge at 9 a.m. Friday in the case of Anith Jones. The Merrillville woman's body was found Saturday in an abandoned house in Gary.
Vann faces murder and other charges in the case. He also is charged in the strangulation death of 19-year-old Afrikka Hardy. Her body was found Friday in a Hammond motel.
