Former Millersburg Town Marshal Accused of Stealing Woman’s Underwear

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): It's a guilty plea from the former Millersburg town marshal accused of stealing a woman’s underwear.

David Keith Hathaway was charged in July with two counts of conversion, after his son’s girlfriend contacted police and told them Hathaway had been stealing her underwear.

The victim and Hathaway’s son set up a hidden camera in her bedroom and recorded Hathaway picking up a pair of her underwear from the floor and sniffing it before putting it back. According to court documents, he also picked up another pair before leaving the room,.

Hathaway is sentenced to one year non-reporting probation. He also has to pay a $300 fine plus court costs. Hathway retired from his post as Millersburg town marshall, but still does part-time administrative work for the department.
