INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Indiana's upcoming bicentennial will include a six-week long torch relay in the fall of 2016 designed to snake its way through all 92 Hoosier counties.
 
Gov. Mike Pence announced the torch relay Thursday during Statehood Day. The relay will pay homage to the torch that's the centerpiece of Indiana's state flag and follow a meandering route chosen to showcase areas of natural beauty, local interest or historical significance.
 
The relay will begin in Corydon, the state's first capitol, in September 2016 and end six weeks later in Indianapolis with a celebration on the Statehouse grounds.
 
Accompanying the torch will be a traveling interactive museum highlighting important milestones during the 200 years since Indiana achieved statehood on Dec. 11, 1816.
