Stutzman Votes to Fund National Guard

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Today, U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman issued the following statement after the House of Representatives voted to ensure that members of the National Guard are paid during the government’s shutdown. Stutzman, who represents the 122ndFighter Wing of the Indiana Air National Guard in Fort Wayne, introduced a similar proposal earlier this week.

“I’m grateful that the House has taken a stand for everyday heroes who defend our country, states, and neighbors. These service members and their families should not be sidelined by Harry Reid’s refusal to address the real-world consequences of ObamaCare. While Senate Democrats prove more interested in rejecting serious House proposals than addressing problems, the House is offering common ground that we can agree on. These men and women who serve in the National Guard put their lives on hold for our freedoms deserve an up-or-down vote in the Senate.”
