MONON, Ind. (WOWO): A suspect is dead after a police shooting in White County Thursday afternoon.

Authorities say the man robbed a cash advance store and hijacked a delivery truck and took the driver hostage in Watseka, Illinois. The chase came to an end in Monon, Indiana near Lafayette when the vehicle hit police stop sticks and slammed into vehicles.

Indiana State Police Sergeant Kim Riley says the officers and the suspect exchanged fire.

The woman hostage was treated and released for minor injuries.
