Vigil Planned for Tipton County Deputy Killed a Year Ago

TIPTON, Ind. (AP) _ A central Indiana sheriff's department is planning a vigil to remember one of its deputies who died when his patrol car rolled over en route to a crash scene a year ago.

The Kokomo Tribune (http://bit.ly/1BzrfHy ) reports the vigil for Tipton County Deputy Jacob Calvin will be held 7:30 p.m. Sunday in front of the county jail.

Tipton County Sheriff Tony Frawley says the vigil will give the community a chance to get some closure and to say their goodbyes. An Indiana State Police official will speak at the vigil, as will Calvin's father, Dan.

Police said Calvin lost control of his patrol car on June 28, 2014, on a rural road and wasn't wearing a seatbelt as he was ejected from the car when it rolled several times.
