National Anti-Drug Conference Taking Place in Indianapolis This Week

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO):  Hundreds of anti-drug leaders are meeting this week Indianapolis.

It's the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America's 2015 Mid-Year Training Institute. Some 1500 anti-drug leaders and youth are meeting at the J.W. Marriott.

They're focusing on finding and promoting ways to reduce drug abuse in communities. In addition, they're targeting youth drug abuse by offering courses on medicine abuses, underage drinking, how to create tobacco-free environments and reducing impaired driving along with marijuana, heroin and synthetic drug use.

Noble County Judge Mike Kramer is also at the conference and he says it's becoming more difficult to control drug abuse as society becomes more accommodating to drug use.

The conference ends late Thursday, August 6th.
