Steuben County Authorities Investigating Vehicle Break-Ins

FREMONT, Ind. (WOWO): Steuben County authorities are looking for whoever's responsible for recent car break-ins.

The Steuben County Sheriff's Department says it is investigating about 17 reports of thefts from cars. Most of the theft reports are in the northeastern part of the county, with some reports of thefts coming out of Fremont. The thefts appear to have occurred during the overnight hours in the last two weeks. 

The department is reminding residents to lock their car and take all valuables from the car while making sure your garage door is shut. 

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call the sheriff's department at 260-665-3131, Fremont police at 260-495-9848 or Steuben County Crime Stoppers at 260-668-STOP.
