Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo says Goodbye to Red Panda

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo will be switching a well-known Red Panda that zoo handlers raised from birth.

Maliha was born in the summer of 2014 and will be leaving the zoo to help grow the red panda population.

According to our Partners in news at 21Alive, Maliha is headed to the Potter Park Zoo in Lansing, Michigan to be paired with a mate. A Species Survival Plan has been put in place to help the red panda population.

Mars the red panda was recently introduced to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo to be paired with Xiao. Guests may see red panda babies at the exhibit this year.
