INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Authorities say a bus has struck and killed one adult and injured two children outside an Indianapolis elementary school.

Indianapolis Fire Department Capt. Rita Reith said school bus lurched forward over a curb and struck the three people Tuesday afternoon. She says the two children suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Reith says the driver of the bus and 25 students on the bus were not injured.

The incident occurred outside Amy Beverland Elementary School in Lawrence Township on the city’s far northeast side.

Television footage showed worried parents gathered outside the school.
