Cause of death for toddler hit by vehicle in Fort Wayne driveway revealed

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Allen County Coroner’s Office determined the cause of death of a toddler who was hit by a car backing up in the driveway this week.

13-month-old Ember Bean died from blunt force trauma due to a motor vehicle crash and the manner of death was ruled an accident, according to the Allen County Coroner’s Office. 

A vehicle was backing up when it hit a 1-year-old who was playing in the driveway in the 300 block of Darrow Ave.

Bean was sent to the hospital in critical condition, where she later died.
