Pastor looks to collect donations for local police

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne pastor is trying to show some love to local police after three more cops were killed Sunday in Baton Rouge.

“I want to raise $2,500 in gift cards of $25 each, and I want to challenge some young African-American men to walk downtown, into the police station, and give those gift cards away, and tell them ‘thank you,'” says Pastor Carlton Lynch of New Beginnings Church.

He adds that there may be discussions about what cops do right or wrong, but they’re still there to “protect and serve.” If you’d like to help out, call Lynch at 206-8039 or email him at pastorcarltonlynch@yahoo.com.
