WOODBURN, Ind. (WOWO): A Huntington man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Allen County that went unnoticed for hours.

The Indiana State Police says 53-year-old Doug Buzzard had been traveling eastbound on US 24 east of State Road 101 in a semi when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle left the south side of the road and fell into a very deep ditch.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police think the crash happened either late Monday night or very early Tuesday morning, but wasn’t discovered until 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Buzzard’s employer reported him missing Tuesday morning after he didn’t arrive at his planned destination.
