Fort Wayne police arrest 2 on drug charges

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two people were arrested after a long car chase.

Fort Wayne Police Department Vice/Narcotics detectives tried to arrested Varnell Coe and Kareem Jerome after a drug dealing investigation at a local hotel on Tuesday, Sept. 27, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.

The attempted arrest resulted into a vehicle pursuit. At some point, the officers decided to end the chase because of traffic conditions. However, police in DeKalb County quickly located and arrested the suspects.

Coe was arrested on a charge of carrying a handgun while having a prior felony. He also had a warrant out for his arrest in Michigan for drug dealing, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.

Jerome was arrested on two counts of dealing a manufactured drug and one count of dealing cocaine.
