Community walk to end violence

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two survivors from a church shooting led a unity walk in Fort Wayne over the weekend.

Polly Sheppard and Felicia Sanders are survivors of the June 2015 massacre that took place at the Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston, S.C. They led the Sunday walk, according to our partners in news at 21 Alive.

A band played and local residents sang songs while walkers made their way from Clinton Street to Frieman Square.

Sheppard and Sanders then spoke to the group with their message being that there is only one race, and it’s the human race.
