FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Enrollment numbers seem to be doing well at the Fort Wayne branch of Ivy Tech Community College.

The Journal Gazette reports that as it stands, head counts for summer and fall show the school has met 76% of its enrollment goal of 15,000 students over the summer, fall and spring semesters, with expectations to pass the goal when the spring semester starts in January.

There aren’t any final numbers yet but an estimated 8,831 students are currently taking fall classes at the school’s North Anthony Blvd campus. More than 6,000 of those students are freshmen.

Trustees are crediting the college’s I-Career initiative with luring high school students to Ivy Tech.
