Man charged with attempted murder in parents’ beating

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man accused of attacking his parents has been formally charged with two counts of attempted murder.

50-year-old Scott Ruse is accused of beating his parents in their home on Homestead Road back on July 5th, before stealing their SUV. His father was left in critical condition, and his mother in fair condition.

He was tracked down in Whitley County by police, who had used the vehicle’s OnStar system to locate him and shut the vehicle off.

Ruse is requesting a public defender. His next court date is July 26th, with a pretrial hearing set for August 28th.
