FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne City Council will get a first look tonight at a proposal that gives tax breaks to liquor dealers.

City Councilman Tom Didier is sponsoring the ordinance, which would allow wholesalers to ask for tax abatements from both real property taxes and business personal property taxes, according to the Journal Gazette.

Apparently, Didier is making the proposal to help AALCO Distributing Company, which is planning a move from its current location on Grant Avenue to a spot within Didier’s district in the northwest portion of town.

He says he’s making the push to ensure jobs stay in Fort Wayne.
