Adams County officials have outlined where residents can cast their ballots for the Primary Election on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, emphasizing accessible vote centers across the county.
Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and all registered voters in Adams County may vote at any designated vote center, regardless of their precinct.
The following sites will serve as official vote centers on Election Day:
- Bridge Community Church
- Riverside Center
- Monroe Fire Station
- First Missionary Church
- Bridge Community Church
- 100 High Street Building
Voters are required to present a valid photo ID when voting. The ID must meet the following criteria:
- Display the voter’s photo
- Have a name that matches voter registration records
- Be current or expired after the most recent general election
- Be issued by the State of Indiana or the U.S. government
For voters unable to travel to a polling location, Adams County provides assistance through a traveling election board. This service is available to residents in nursing homes such as:
- Adams Woodcrest Nursing Center in Decatur
- Adams Woodcrest Assisted Living in Decatur
- Swiss Village Retirement Community in Berne
- Envive Healthcare of Berne
Homebound voters may also request assistance by submitting an application. A bipartisan team will coordinate a visit to deliver voting equipment and provide support.
Applications for traveling board services can be completed online through the state voter portal, or submitted by mail, email, phone, or in person to the Adams County election office.
