Alcohol Awareness Event at IPFW to Focus on Lifeline Law

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The public is invited to an alcohol awareness event Monday night at 6 p.m., in the International Ballroom of the Walb Student Union on the IPFW campus in Fort Wayne.

The event will explain how the Indiana Lifeline Law works and how it can protect people under the age of 21, against prosecution for alcohol-related offenses if they call 911 to get help for an intoxicated friend.

The Indiana Legislature passed the Lifeline Law last year.

Speakers at the event will include State Senator Jim Merritt, who is author of the Lifeline Law, and Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller.
