Anderson Man Faces Attempted Feticide Charge

ANDERSON, Ind. (AP): Central Indiana prosecutors say an Elwood man allegedly mixed a medical herb into a drink for a pregnant woman in an attempt to cause her to have a miscarriage.
Twenty-five-year-old Jarod Rebuck was arrested Thursday on a felony charge of attempted feticide. He remained jailed Saturday on a $20,000 cash bond.
The woman told police she drank a beverage Rebuck prepared for her that had a strange odor, and then found that Rebuck had performed Google searches on his smartphone of ways to cause a miscarriage.
Police say Rebuck told officers he placed a medical herb called clary sage in the woman's drink.
Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings says the woman did ingest the substance, but it isn't expected to prove fatal for her fetus.
