FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is partnering with the Indiana State Police once again for the semi-annual Shred Day event this Saturday.

On Saturday, Sept. 22, individuals and small businesses can take advantage of free onsite document shredding. The maximum number of file boxes per costumer or business is five, and the event is first come, first serve.

Suggested documents to shred include:

  • ATM receipts
  • Bank and credit card statements
  • Cancelled checks
  • Old tax returns
  • Medical records
  • Pay stubs
  • Utility bills

The event will be held from 9 a.m. until noon in the parking lot of Afdent Dental Services, 4041 Parnell Avenue. There is a possibility the trucks may fill up before noon, so coming early is advised.

Although the event is free, a minimum $5 donation is encouraged. Proceeds benefit the BBB’s Charitable & Educational Foundation, which provides consumer education, sponsors the Student of Integrity Scholarship Program and hosts the Torch Awards.
