Boy Escapes Injury After Plastic Bottle Explodes on Him

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A boy escaped injury after kicking a bottle that exploded, spraying him with its contents. Around 6:00 Monday night, the boy was walking on High Street near Franklin Avenue when he came across a plastic bottle with an unknown fluid inside. He kicked the bottle and it exploded, spraying him. The victim’s mom got him in the shower at their home, and police say her quick action probably saved him from chemical burns. He was not hospitalized and appears unharmed. A Meth Suppression Unit was called to the scene, but it was determined that the bottle did not contain any substances used in the manufacturing of meth. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Detective Sergeant Greg Stier of the Hazardous Devices Unit at 260-427-2553.
