FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — Fort Wayne residents will have a chance today, August 24, to hear from Mayor Sharon Tucker and her administration about the proposed Anchor Resource Center.

The public forum is scheduled for 5:30 to 7 p.m. today at the Grand Wayne Center’s Calhoun Ballroom.

Tucker and her administration will give a 30-minute presentation on the proposed homeless services center, followed by about an hour of public comment.

The proposed center would provide services including shelter, food, showers, laundry facilities, phone service and secure storage.

The city is proposing to locate the center at 333 East Washington Boulevard.

City Council is expected to vote on funding for the project September 1.
